Video materials on improving communication with patients, cross-cultural aspect (abstract).

A scene is shown how to establish contact with disabled people, how to help (e.g. how to help with orientation, etc.), how to talk to the person being examined, what to do if a guide dog is with the patient?

Before watching these videos, please take a moment to think about and describe how you might interact with a visually impaired person. How do you build a relationship with a blind person, how do you help them change places and positions? How does the visually impaired person relate to their companion or dog? How does it substitute for situations that require sight? Take notes and compare them with what you hear in the video.

My name is Ádám Balogh. Nice to meet you.
I will close the door, okay? Would you like to put the dog down somewhere while we work?
    Yes, definitely!
I think we can put him against the wall behind you. I’ll show you around. You can lay the dog down here between the wall and the sofa.
Okay, thank you very much! Lie down, Octav! Stay here!
Come with me please; the examination table is over there. I will put your hand on it. We’ll carry out the examination here.
    Okay, thank you very much.
