Recommendations (what would be good to revise before working through the lesson)

To understand the non-respiratory role of the diaphragm, before starting the lesson, it is necessary to review and/or familiarize oneself with information on:

  • The structure of the chest;
  • The innervation of the diaphragm and chest structures;
  • The vascular supply to the diaphragm and chest structures;
  • Muscles involved in the breathing process.

The topics listed here are covered in the e-manual.
