VIDEO 7. Kegel Exercises

Kegel exercises are pelvic floor muscle exercises that strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, support the pelvic organs and help control incontinence. Care should be taken to ensure that the bladder is empty during the Kegel exercise. The patient sits comfortably on the exercise ball during the exercise, and the movement is started with breathing exercise on the ball. The patient is asked to try to squeeze the pelvic floor muscles while exhaling. To explain the contraction of the pelvic floor muscles, the patient is instructed to imagine that you are trying to stop urinating in the middle of urination. The patient releases the pelvic floor muscles after 5-10 seconds. Kegel exercises should be done by the patient 10 times a day for 3 repetitions.
