Imagine that you want to achieve the following goals with a person at risk of falling:

  • explain to the patient that the risk of falling is higher for him than is appropriate for his age
  • talk to him about the dangers of this and what can be done about it
  • try to develop your motivation in a comprehensive lifestyle change, a possible transformation of the living environment and a program aimed at developing physical abilities led by a physiotherapist
  • during the program, teach the correct posture, develop the patient’s muscle strength and mobility, trunk stability, improve coordination and balance, reduce reaction time, try to slow down the rate of bone loss.

Applicable techniques:

  • education
  • setting short and long term goals
